At a panel at SXSW in Austin, Texas Rovio developer Peter Vesterbacka has claimed that console games are “dying” and the idea of paying $50 for a game is going the way of the dodo.
In the week that Call Of Duty: Black Ops was declared the best selling video game ever, with 13.7million sales in USA alone, Vesterbacka’s comments were surely designed to ‘ruffle a few feathers’, so to speak.
Rovio claim that Angry Birds has been downloaded over 100 million times, although this number includes Lite and ad-supported versions.
