This time of the week is my favourite, when lots of new games are launched in the app store. Today is no different, brought to you by Table Flip Studios their new game Awesome Snowcube just hit the store. A fun, bouncing, cloud hopping game.
Help out the awesome little snowcube who is off on an adventure up in the sky using clouds and birds to fly as far as he can and show everyone just how awesome he really is.
The game play is very similar game style to games like Tiny Wings and Jetpack Joyride if you have ever played them. You are moving along in the air and to stay up high and in the sky you need to bounce off the clouds. To do this you just tap them when the little snowcube approaches them. If you need to go a little higher then double tap.
For a speedy flight hit a bird and then tap fast to fly even longer and a little bit further. There is also a few thunder clouds scattered around. Land on them and when the screen freezes it tells you to swipe out of it. When you do it will then send you flying at high speed further along the sky. Great for gaining a bit of distance.
The higher in the sky you go the more you score. It will multiply by more the higher you get, so if you have a competitive streak and want to try beat your friends, get as high as you can for those extra points. You will also notice in the sky scattered around are snowflakes. Collect them as you go and these can then be used for customizing your snowcube to make him even more awesome. Dress him up and make him cool, or cooler than an icecube already is anyway.
You can also give him little power ups to help him along the way. Like the flake magnet which sucks in the flakes towards you so you don’t miss any. Great for collecting a huge bulk of them. Then you have others like cool cloud and awesome cloud and erm.. fart bean which will give you triple jumps. Lots to help you improve your score. There are plenty of snowflakes to collect but if you feel you can not wait and want more you can purchase more in-app but it not essential to enjoy the full game play.
There are levels depending on what distance you travel and each level comes with little tasks for example, to bounce on 150 clouds or score 50000 points. All helping to add a challenge to the game. Snowcube is very similar to the many other games available as I mentioned earlier, the endless travelling and the tasks that you need to unlock. It does though have Game Center support so offers enough reasons to want to play it again so you can compete with your friends. There is no better feeling than being at the top of a leader board!
It is a fun challenging game with cute looking characters and surroundings. Before you do go and try download the game you do need to be aware it only supports the iPhone 4/4S, iPad 2, the New iPad and the iPod Touch 4th generation.
It is a game that would be suitable for most ages and one that you can pick up and play anytime.
