Microsoft introduce hands-free gaming

Microsoft are bringing controller-free gaming to the 360, with facial, movement and voice recognition.

Codenamed Project Natal, the sensor tracks 3d movements and audio and it will work with every XBox 360 past and present.

The trailer looked very slick, showing off fighting, driving, football and skateboarding games with players’ movements being recognised without the need for any controller.

If this works anywhere near as good as the trailer shows it promises to be an exciting development in gaming, well beyond what Nintendo brought with the Wii.
