360 for £400?

Play.com are taking pre-orders for the Xbox 360, and have priced Microsoft's console at £400 (or a penny less to be precise).

Microsoft have emphasised the need for their next-gen console to be competitively priced, and J Allard has said the launch price will be ’in the neighbourhood of $300 (£160)’, so we are suprised at Play.com decision.

Other retailers, including Total Gaming’s online partner Gameplay, have yet to set a price, but it will be interesting to see how the market reacts to Play.com’s first move.
