Dead Or Alive 4

We've been treated to sneak peeks of DOA4 for such a long time that it seems instantly familiar to finally play the game on the XBox 360.

As expected, Team Ninja have cranked up the detail, with photorealistic backdrops and impressive cut scenes.

Interactive elements on the stage are now so integrated into the game, you can’t just concentrate on your opponent. From traffic in Las Vegas to cheetahs in the Savannah, you have to watch your back!

The graphics aren’t the only element that has been improved since DOA Ultimate. There’s a wealth of game modes to choose from, including the rather smart Album Mode which allows you to take screen grabs of the action and place them in the gallery.

Story Mode, Time Attack, Survival, Versus and Team Battle also feature, to give a huge choice to satisfy all gamers.

DOA Ultimate took the fighting title online with XBox Live and, as expected, DOA 4 makes use of the 360’s online experience to improve the online experience.

Quick Match, Custom Match, and Optimatch are all fairly standard, if not compulsory in online gaming, but the lobbies, customisable avatars and the ability to earn Zack dollars with which to buy items to wear while fighting make the whole experience so much more fun.

There’s so many unlockables and achievements to accomplish that this game will keep you busy for a long time.
