Chromehounds

Chromehounds brings the often overlooked genre of squad-based multiplayer mech combat to the Xbox 360. The war of the future has begun with three superpower nations fighting for world domination. Commanding giant metal war machines called Hounds.

Players must manage their tower of heavy artillery through giant war zones while engaging in cooperative squad-based tactics, and fighting intense battles against other real-time players via Xbox Live. Strategic planning, quick reflexes and team-based communication are the key to winning the Chromehounds battle.

Players can customize their mechanized Hounds with a huge array of available options to create a walking arsenal of firepower, with six different types of vehicles to choose from.

Unfortunately, this game is to all intents and purposes an online-only game. There is a single player mode, but it is there for gamers to hone their skills and unlock Hound parts for multiplayer battles.

Fortunately, the multiplayer combat modes rescue this title, and make it one of the best online games on the market at the moment. Players can join up with a squad of up to six for head-to-head battles with opposing forces, conquering enemy territory to ultimately control the entire map.

If you don't have XBox Live don't bother shelling out for Chromehounds. But if you do, and enjoy building and battling with mechanical robots then this title is for you.
