Hot Wheels: Track Attack review

Buying a decent, fun console game for a young child can be a bit like Russian Roulette. While many games look great in trailers and screenshots they often fail to live up to expectations.

Hot Wheels: Track Attack may be a budget title, but it doesn’t skimp on the fun factor. Colours are bright, action is fast-paced and wild, and there’s plenty of enjoyment to be had with this Wii title. Multiplayer support for up to four people on split screen guarantees fun for all the family at the Christmas party.

The Wii Wheel isn’t necessary, but does help you control your car as you speed around the crazy, stunt-filled tracks. There are one or two occasions when the game will glitch and leave you stuck outside the track, but these are few and far between.

The built-in track editor which tends to be standard in these type of games nowadays is a breeze to use for people of all ages, allowing you to sketch out your layout and fill it with wild loops and stunts. Design and play couldn’t be any simpler.

Modnation Racers may be the best title in the cartoon arcade racing genre, but for a bidget title aimed at 3-10 year olds Hot Wheels: Track Attack is the perfect stocking filler.
